CYA is headed by Sam Ferrington, ACII.

Working on a multitude of accounts over the years Sam has implemented systems, teams and processes which have stood and passed rigorous regulatory inspection.

Sam launched CYA knowing that, with her extensive industry experience, whatever your challenge she can confidently say, ‘we’ve got your back’.  Sam has a strong background in Compliance, Risk Management and Governance.

She has extensive experience of working on past business reviews, Section 166 reviews, complaints-handling, pre-sale suitability advice checks, suitability report-writing, process design and implementation and risk management strategies for corporate governance.

Sam’s robust trouble-shooting approach to delivering quality assurance processes has created case precedent on some occasions.  With tried and tested processes, she has been asked to head numerous teams, reporting with accountability to their clients’ Board of Directors and to the FCA.  Sam also has extensive project management experience and holds the PRINCE2 qualification in Project Management.  This allows Sam to approach her clients’ requests using tried and tested methodologies to deliver results for the business and the bottom line.

Sam is a Chartered Financial Planner and has worked as an IFA herself.  With this experience Sam understands the pressures and challenges that face you in running an IFA practice today.  She provides a full support service which, for some of our clients, includes fact-finding and other non-regulated client-facing roles.

Much of our work at the moment is providing support for our IFA clients who are undertaking Defined Benefit transfers.  We are able to prepare TVAS reports and suitability reports to help our clients ensure they are giving appropriate advice in this potentially-tricky area of advice.

Sam has worked in Financial Services since 1987 in various roles: IFA, Training, T&C and Compliance. Her extensive work both with IFAs and as an IFA herself ensures that Sam has an in-depth understanding of the pressures and constraints that IFAs find themselves under and the businesses they run. Sam is also qualified as a Pensions Specialist.
